Training: Kurt Hantelmann
Ok, so this wasn’t written by Kurt; but it was written about Kurt, and we think it’s pretty accurate.
Kurt’s plan is simple: to dominate any bike event he ever enters! RAID is no exception.
When there’s 6+ inches of snow on the ground in the middle of January, you’ll find Kurt in his basement, on his trainer, at 4:30 a.m. Every day. Well, except on Monday when he comes to the Altoona Campus to run the most grueling spin class imaginable. (Really, around these parts this class is infamous.) No snow? Not negative 5 degrees? Well, then Kurt’s actually outside at 4:30 AM. Yes, this is true. He has special tires that give him traction in the snow and he rides at 4:30 AM because when you have a headlamp as bright as his, it’s actually safer.
Kurt rides hundreds of miles per week. He can way outlast the Energizer Bunny. Our plan for finishing RAID is to just try and stay in his jet-stream!
