Training: Chad Johnson
This is Chad’s fourth triathlon season, and I’ve done a 95-mile ride this fall with the Dr. Bob Breedlove Memorial Ride–it was tough! Hopefully we won’t have any headwind or crazy crosswind, but May will be a perfect month for a nice 20mph tailwind!
My training schedule will be focused around Saturday morning practice rides beginning 8 weeks ahead:
- 60 mi
- 60 mi
- 80 mi
- 80 mi
- 100 mi
- 120 mi
- 150 mi
- and lastly, a 60 mi taper week
Wednesdays will probably be 50-60 mi rides as well, with Monday and Friday 20-30 mi triathlon training rides. I’m looking forward to having a group to gain some aerodynamics, and trying to keep steady on the cadence and power output.
